This is a trio [occasionally a quartet of James Kirk ( Black Boned Angel, The Stumps, Gate), Nathan Thompson (E ye, Gate, Expansion Bay ), Tim Cornelius ( Three Forks, Ray Off ) and Mark Curragh] of sonic improvisation, ambient, pseudo-jazz, rock or abstract as it is called modern classical music that meets the noise. He feels this intoxication in a sound sense of beauty and singularity which is certainly one of the characteristics of that land of which you never hear about. The Western Lands draws inspiration from the book by William Burroughs the same title.
