The Loop Orchestra
Group formed by Australian John Blades and Richard Fielding in 1979 after he left because I wanted Severed Heads away from a group where the personalities were more important than music.
Building on its experience in Severed Heads (with tapes manipulation) Richard Fielding and his companions began to make music just like having different tools tape recorder playing live with the tapes previously prepared ; loop. In practice, cutting a segment of tape to the chosen points and pasting the two sides together to form a piece of tape that repeats indefinitely closed the fragment of sound it produces. The material is chosen from a wide range of sounds depending on the subject, from the symphonic orchestra, records or CDs, from the archives of the BBC, by suspense films of the 50s, like environmental sounds. Each "player", are in 5 [Gasparinatos Emmanuel, Patrick Gibson and Hamish MacKenzie (members of bands such as electronic Severed Heads, Scattered Order, The Systematics ...)], sends his loop and the other responds by joining its cut- up with that buddy. In addition to the four that deal with tape recorder is a "conductor" to the sound that filters and choose the tracks live. The strange thing is that even when using material "vintage" the result is timeless. To sell 500 copies of their debut self-produced, Suspense , become a collector's item, it took 15 years! The whole world is country ...
